"am i wrong?! - no, you're just an asshole."

I’m back in Örebrew again.. I’m just everywhere lately. Last Friday I went to Lund to check out my new apartment, and it was so nice! On the top floor and everything.. Lund is such a cute city. I’ve never been before! But it’s got that small town-feel to it, and the people are really nice. But they have a strong dialect down there… I have to get used to it. I’m glad I don’t have to live in Denmark though! Danish…. That language is annoying as hell. Okay enough about language.

I don’t have any exciting news at the moment, so I thought I’d share some pictures from my time in Örebro.

i'm gonna miss each and everyone of you!

high violet

I think my favourite album of 2010 is The National’s “High Violet”. If you’ve followed my blog you’ll know that I saw them at Radio City Music Hall in New York this summer. I hadn’t listened a lot to their new stuff before the concert, but ever since it’s been playing constantly.
And I did actually meet Bryan Devendorf, the John Lennon- look-a-like in the background. :)

Anyway, here is a taste (click). If you haven't already, i strongly recommend you to check it out.

Oh, You Are the Roots That Sleep Beneath My Feet And Hold the Earth In Place.

I got a question about where I got my blog-name (lady lazarus) from. It’s from my favourite poem by Sylvia Plath, and you can find it here. I love her so much. I first came across her work when I read the book “the bell jar”, but I didn’t know she was a poet then. I really liked that book too! But I prefer her poems. So now you know….

I had a very interesting day today (not really). I just had a veeery long “fika”, and there is no proper English word for that. Or is it? Anyway, it’s when you meet friends and have coffee. Haha! I met Tova at 12, and we had a long chat about life in general (and new york in particular). Then Alex showed up, so I ended up staying for about 4 hours. Did I just beat some kind of world record in “fika” today? :)

I’ve finally finished packing all my stuff in Örebro! But I just found out that the girl in Lund hasn’t moved out yet, so I can’t bring it there.. typical.

My life is so interesting. I miss New York more than ever.. :(
Some good music might cheer me up.

oh, lady gaga.

If you know me, you know that I’m not particularly fond of Lady Gaga. I know that a lot of my readers are however, so I’m not gonna bash on her anymore. I’m just gonna let Alex do it for me.

twilight by alex day

I’ve had a pretty boring day/week. Been trying to pack all my stuff in Örebro, since I’m moving to Lund in a few weeks. It’s taking forever. I didn’t realize how much shit I have.. I mean useless shit. I can never find anything a really need, like a pen for instance, but I can always find an Egyptian cat in bronze or a scented candle formed like a cake.

Today, however, wasn’t as boring as the rest of the week, because I found Alex Day, a.k.a. nerimon on youtube. Now, I’ve never liked Twilight, but I forced myself to read the first book ‘cause everyone kept going on about how great it was. I finished it after some struggle, and it left me utterly unimpressed. To be honest, the only thing that kept me reading was my hate for Bella Swan, the main character. Oh Bella and her teenage lust.

Anyway, if you share my opinion on the subject then I think you’ll enjoy this video. If not, then you don’t have to watch.

so long new york.. until next time

I’m back in good ol’ Sweden again. The plane-ride home was absolutely awful. Every inch of me wanted to stay in New York. Since it was a red-eye flight (i.e. a night-flight) it felt like the longest 8 hours of my life. Luckily I had loads of films and series to watch (thank GOD for the office!). Next to me on the plane sat a huge guy.. I mean he was enormous. He had to have two seats to fit. “This is gonna be a problem” I thought, as I was unable to get up and go to the bathroom or stretch my legs. But he turned out to be a really cool guy, and there was no problem at all. :) Ha, I found it funny that the cabin crew referred to him as “The Boss”. “Black coffee for The Boss, coming up.” Oh, anyway.. mm, coffee. That’d be nice right now.

The last couple of days in NYC were amazing. Apart from top of the rock, me and Will went to see The Black Keys at Terminal 5. What a show!! Holy shit. We arrived a little late, so unfortunately we missed the first opening act, but we saw the second one – the Whigs. They were amazing too! Will kept going on about how he usually didn’t like the venue :P but I thought it was really cool. It was a three-story building, with a rooftop where you could get food and drinks and hang out. The only bad thing about the place, as far as I’m concerned, was the security-guards. They were assholes. So anyway. We hung out on the rooftop for a while, and then headed back down to catch The Black Keys. Oh, guess who we stumbled upon in the audience? We’re pretty sure it was Nikolai Fraiture, the base-player of THE STROKES. He touched my arm. I was freaking out.

The Black Keys started to play around 12 am. They pretty much kicked major ass (of course, what did you expect from one of the greatest bands ever?!). We noticed that there were video cameras all over the place, and when we left they were filming us as we went out (haha Will made a memorable appearance :D). Yes they were filming the whole concert for a session in Spin Magazine, I believe.

We had nowhere to go after the show, so we decided to hang around for a while, in the hopes of running into the band. And oh yes… we did run in to them. We met both Patrick and Dan. They were exhausted though. No wonder, since they played a show earlier that day too in Central Park.
